Biography
My full name is Dede Siti Hodijah, S.Pd. Everyone usually calls me Dede or Neng Desi. I’m originally from Mangunjaya - Pangandaran, which is a small district in the southwest of Padaherang and the southeast of Banjarsari. I grew up in Mangunjaya until I graduated from Junior High School at 6 Padaherang. Then I moved to Cirebon and studied in Senior High School 1 Susukan. After graduation in 2007, I worked in Depok-Bogor as a factory worker. In 2010, I decided to learn English in the English Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Science at Galuh University in Ciamis. In the second semester, to develop my Vocabularies and English skills, I took an English privately to my lecturer until the eighth semester because I was hard to understand English lesson at that time, but I never give up to study English.
Before moving to Cimahi-Bandung, I taught English in the elementary school in Mangunjaya-Pangandaran, and the Kumon course in Bekasi, the Harvard and Cinderella courses in Bandung. I’ve taught English in the Islamic junior high school (MTs Al Amanah) and joined Lest Private Tridaya in Bandung. I like living in another city and enjoy learning about different cultures and new people. In total, I have been teaching for almost 6 years and have experience working with lots of different types of learners.
I got married in 2018 and have lived in an army dormitory exactly in Rusun 1 Kodiklat TNI AD in Cimahi since 2018. I have a boy, Arrazi Firaz Ohibor (Rhazes), who is 2 years old. At the moment, due to the national lockdown in Indonesia, I am trying to teach and play with him when I am at home. In my school, I should go to school three times a week to guide students who don’t have mobile phones to study lessons and to service somebody who borrows or returns some books to the library because I’m a librarian too.
In my current job at MTs Al Amanah. I help students to build vocabularies and improve their English skills so that they will be able to use them, particularly in school. For this reason, the number of students who study in this school. They didn’t learn English when they were in Elementary school. I’ve used the Indonesia Standard Curriculum. I really enjoy learning and teaching English as long as I can.
I usually spend my free time relaxing with my family. Sometimes, we go to visit our brother in Lembang-Bandung on Saturday. I also enjoy cooking Sundanese foods or Ambon Foods. I often help my husband in the garden. If we have a special day we make a garden party with people who stay in an army dormitory. I’m really missing traveling to Borobudur Temple in Yogyakarta with my students and seeing my family who are in Mangunjaya-Pangandaran. I can't wait to go on holiday and meet up with my family. I hope we are always in good health.
I think that’s all about me. Thanks
